Kichwa Communities
Visiting the different Kichwa communities in the tropical rainforest of Yasuní National Park is an incredibly enriching experience for those who wish to immerse themselves in Ecuadorian indigenous culture. The community members are very welcoming and friendly, and they are happy to share their knowledge and traditions with visitors. In these communities such as Pompeya, Indillama, Pilche, Añangu, among others, you can learn about traditional medicine, ancestral traditions, handicrafts and sustainable agriculture among other activities. Visitors can enjoy jungle hikes, discover the local flora and fauna and learn to prepare typical regional dishes. It is a unique moment that cannot be experienced elsewhere. Ultimately, visiting the Kichwa communities on the banks of the Napo River is a chance to explore ancient culture and discover the treasures of the Amazon Rainforest.

PIHA LODGE Located 70 km to the city of Coca in Yasuní, Orellana, Ecuador. A motorboat will take you on a comfortable 2 hour ride from the port of Pompeya Community.

– Distributed in 2 rooms up to 6 people
– Each room can have 3 beds, one double bed and one single bed
– Ideal for couples or families with one child or small groups
– Cabin size: 8 mtr long x 10 mtr wide
– Single bed dimensions (twin XL): 1.05 mtr wide x 2.00 mtr long
– Double bed dimensions (queen): 1.40 mtr wide x 2.00 mtr long
Cabin #3:
- Standard type with private bathroom and hot water
– Divided into 2 rooms, accommodating up to 10 people
– Each room can be arranged with up to 5 single beds for sharing
– Each room can have 3 beds, one double bed and one single bed

– Porch with seats and view to the nature

How to get there?
By private or public bus from the city of Quito, it will take approximately 5 and a half hours to reach the city of Coca.
From the capital city of Quito, a 45 minutes flight will bring you over the Eastern Andes mountain range to the city of Coca.
Once in Coca, we will take you on a comfortable 2 hour ride from the port of Orellana to the Piha Lodge.
